Hurtigruten Coastal Tour

Book a holiday on board one of Hurtigruten’ s Norwegian cruise ships and they’ll show you incredible landscapes and introduce you to unforgettable people. Choose from an extensive range of different itineraries at different times of the year. Whether you discover Norway in the winter, summer, spring or autumn, there’ll be something spectacular waiting for you. From The Northern Lights and The Midnight Sun to the tranquil harmony of autumn and the freshness of spring, Hurtigruten’ s voyages enables you to experience Norway at its best.

Spring: On a spring voyage you can experience three seasons in one journey. Travel from a spring and summer climate in Bergen to winter in Kirkenes, where you can participate in some fantastic optional winter excursions. You’ll visit the beautiful Lyngenfjord, with majestic mountains and unique nature and you will have the chance to see some of the millions of migrating birds that return to the Arctic Coast during the nesting period in spring.

Summer: Summer is a great time for exploring Norway’s coast and the Geirangerfjord. The intense extended daylight above the Arctic Circle lasts around the clock, giving you more than enough time to discover the beautiful coastline. You can also join in on several action filled optional excursions under the Midnight sun, such as a whale watching safari, RIB adventures or sea eagle safari or simply relax at your leisure on deck.

Autumn: Hurtigruten’ s autumn programme includes a visit to the remarkable Hjørundfjord, various on board activities, striking colours along the coast, exciting optional shore excursions and a chance of seeing the Northern Lights above the Arctic Circle. You will be closer to the cultural life, old traditions and the friendly locals that live on the coast than with any other cruise line. Autumn is also harvest time and you will get a taste of this on board, why not try the delicious cloudberries which is enjoyed in many traditional dishes or just on their own.

Winter: Winter is perhaps the most exceptional time to explore the wild and untamed Norwegian scenery. The landscape is covered in pure white snow; the air is fresh, pure and crisp. Clusters of cosy houses glow on the shores like embers, and the stunning backdrop of snow-clad mountains reflects the polar twilight and you are provided with the best possibilities of experiencing the Northern Lights. Join in on various optional miniature polar expeditions like a husky sledge adventure or a snow mobile trip into the Polar Night through a frozen landscape with stunning views to the Arctic wilderness.
